This Thursday, on February 28th, 2019 Imagine hosted its annual Shakespeare Festival. Students from 6th grade all the way to 10th grade performed and displayed various activities relating to Shakespeare. Parents, administrators, and teachers were all invited and present to watch the wonderful works of literature! For most grade levels, these performances were their summative grades. As a result, students really had to focus and put in their best efforts.
In 6th grade, students recreated the very famous Globe Theater using materials such as cardboard, Popsicle sticks, toothpicks, etc. The 7th graders had to put together a play based on the storyline of Midsummer Night’s Dream. Grade 8 had to choose any act, scene from Romeo and Juliet and then create a visual representation, which they presented that night. The 9th graders this year performed sonnets written by Shakespeare, and create a presentation of some sort to go along with it. The 10th graders performed a play titled “The Taming of the Shrew”.
The kids spent a lot of time and dedication on these projects and performances to make sure that their audience was having a great time watching them. The teachers and staff members also played a big role in making this annual festival be possible and amazing this year as well!
