The Teen Police Academy is  a week long camp run by the McKinney Police Department. During the camps, the students will be trained and taught the many aspects of law enforcement. Students will get a tour of the police department, crime labs, and more. These events include patrol procedures, crime scene investigation, traffic stops, narcotics investigations, K-9 demonstrations, SWAT demonstrations, and obstacle course training.  In order to be a part of this wonderful opportunity, you must fill out an application consisting of 3 different teacher recommendation letters.

The camp dates are: June 10-14 for the basic Academy and June 17-21 for the advanced academy. The deadline for the applications is April 19 and there are only 36 spots; counting the spots from another school in Mckinney ISD. The camp is free but the parents are asked to send the student with a lunch and provide them transportation to and from the Police Department.
