On October 1st, 2019, Imagine held the 6th grade Fine Arts Showcase. The goal of the showcase was to present what the 6th graders have learned from each of their electives.
The kids in Media Arts created a website to display what they achieved using Photoshop with Mr. Ferrantino. Mrs. Moore and her Visual Art students researched and created their spirit animals using mixed media. Theatre performed a play titled “The Superhero Support Group” about evil doctors trying to steal superhero powers and all the heroes deciding to rebel. Those in Music played “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond, “House of Gold” by Twenty One Pilots, and “Riptide” by Vance Joy with their ukuleles. They also played on a cajon, a percussion instrument originally from Peru.
These talents were all displayed to show parents that night. The schedule began with Theatre, and in between, you could visit the Visual Arts and Media Arts rooms to look at their hard work. Last was the Music performance and I can assure you it ended with a bang!
It was amazing to see how it all came together. The experience was unforgettable. It takes courage to perform in front of an audience and having the support from our peers went a long way to make the night all the more fun. In the end, the Fine Arts Showcase was a great way for the 6th grade students to express their newly learned talents and show their incredibly hard work.
