In 6th grade, ELAR students are reading a book called The Shakespeare Stealer, by Gary Blackwood. It’s set in the Elizabethan era and is about an orphan named Widge. Widge grows up like all orphans, with a hope of being adopted by a family, but when a certain person named Dr. Bright adopts him, it isn’t what Widge thought it would be. Dr. Bright teaches him a code that only him and Widge know, then Widge gets hired by another master to steal Hamlet, the play. Will he succeed?

I’d recommend this book to anyone looking for a new perspective on history. It’s interesting, fast-paced, and action-packed, full of plot twists and fun characters. So, drop by your nearest book store and pick up a copy of this delightful novel!
